Sensor Valves
Smart sensing, precise control & seamless integration!

Integration

Merging the valve and sensor into one cohesive system element eliminates the need for separate components, simplifies design, reduces interfaces, and enables seamless communication for precise, responsive control in complex pneumatic or fluidic systems.

Intelligence

Combining sensing and control in a single smart unit, the intelligent sensor valve enables real-time system feedback, precise closed-loop regulation, and reduced installation complexity – delivering smarter, more efficient fluidic performance.

Condition Monitoring

Integrated sensors continuously monitor pressure and temperature, allowing for early detection of deviations and potential leaks. This proactive monitoring ensures high reliability, minimal downtime, and optimal system performance.

Compactness

The sensor valve provides outstanding functionality in a small footprint, saving valuable installation space and allowing for easy integration into compact systems without sacrificing performance, precision, or control capabilities.

Sensor Valves

Intelligent sensing, precise control & compact integration!

The world’s first microvalves with an integrated sensor. The built-in sensor enables simultaneous measurement of pressure and temperature at either the inlet or the outlet of the valve, depending on the valve’s operating direction. This makes it possible for the first time to monitor the condition of a pneumatic or fluidic system and actively control it via the valve—without additional interfaces, without extra installation effort, and without added space requirements, all in a single component.

Complex fluidic systems containing numerous components tend to be susceptible to leaks due to their many interfaces, which are typically difficult to locate. The valve with integrated sensor effectively reduces the number of such interfaces—and thus potential points of failure. In addition, this type of sensor-integrated valve also lowers installation effort.

Good to Know!

What is a Sensor Valve?

A sensor valve is an innovative valve concept that combines fluid control and sensing capabilities into a single compact element. Unlike conventional valve control loops, which require separate sensors and additional interfaces, the Staiger Sensor Valve integrates pressure and temperature measurement directly into the valve body, allowing for real-time monitoring and accurate control in a single component.

The sensor valve, which is available in both proportional and on/off types, can be adjusted to your application's exact requirements, from dynamic flow regulation to reliable switching. This clever design enables closed-loop control, simplifies system architecture, and reduces potential leakage points, making it perfect for modern pneumatic and fluidic systems that require precision, reliability, and space efficiency.

How does a Sensor Valve work?

A sensor valve combines the functionality of a valve and a sensor into a single intelligent component. Inside the valve body, an integrated pressure and temperature sensor continuously monitors the system's working conditions. These measurements are digitally sent to the control unit, allowing the valve to adjust its performance in real time.

The proportional design allows the valve to fine-tune flow or pressure levels for more exact control. In normal on/off mode, it switches fast and reliably while monitoring system parameters.

The interaction between sensing and control results in a closed-loop system that improves accuracy, stability, and overall efficiency without the need for additional sensors or interfaces.

Sensing & Control

Integrated pressure and temperature sensing continuously monitors real-time values while the valve simultaneously adjusts its performance. This creates a responsive system with dynamic control capabilities.

Valve Actuation

Depending on the version, the valve operates either proportionally for fine flow regulation or in on/off mode for fast, reliable switching—while always delivering sensor feedback.

Closed-Loop Regulation

The combination of integrated sensing and actuation enables closed-loop operation, increasing control accuracy and system stability without external sensors.

Compact Integration

The integrated design minimizes interfaces, reduces leakage risks, and allows for highly compact and space-efficient system architectures.
