Damping valve for knee prosthesis
The valve regulates the prosthesis‘s damping capacity and adapts it to the specific requirements and situations –while standing, walking or climbing stairs. The valve must be capable of withstanding static pressures of up to 200 bar.
High comfort under extreme conditions
The valve is a core component of hydraulically damped prosthetic: it opens and shuts as required and thus regulates the damping/spring rate. This MMI unit (men machine interface) communicating directly with the patient’s leg requires compact constructional designs and long service of the system. We successfully realized this ambitious objective (which also includes regulation of up to 200 bar static pressure) with a patented flat-armature valve (P15 2-way Spider).
