Integrated Control, Sensor & Connectivity
The Staiger electronic pressure regulator is designed for straightforward integration and operation. It combines sensor, control electronics, and communication in a single unit, allowing precise pressure control with minimal external components.
Integrated Pressure Sensor
At the core of the system is a closed-loop control architecture. An integrated pressure sensor continuously measures the outlet pressure and provides real-time feedback to the control electronics.
The measured value is automatically compared with the defined setpoint, and the system adjusts itself accordingly. This enables stable, repeatable pressure and vacuum control without requiring additional external sensors or manual tuning.
Digital Input / Control Signal
The pressure regulator is controlled via a UART-based digital interface, allowing direct communication with a PC or higher-level control system.
For initial setup, the regulator is connected via the JST BM06B-GHS-TBT connector to an adapter board, which can be linked to a computer using USB-C. Using the provided software, users can:
- Define and adjust pressure setpoints
- Monitor system behavior in real time
- Perform calibration and parameter tuning
If required, the regulator can also be controlled without the software by sending commands directly via the UART interface (baud rate: 115200), enabling integration into custom systems.
Electrical Connection
The electrical connection is realized through a compact JST BM06B-GHS-TBT connector, which combines:
- Power supply
- UART communication (Tx / Rx)
- Control signals
The regulator requires an external power supply:
- 24 V DC for the proportional valve variant
- 12 V DC for the switching (on/off) valve variant
It is important to note that the USB connection is used only for communication—power must be supplied separately.
