World's narrowest electronic pressure regulator with solenoid valves

Staiger combines micro proportional solenoid valves with micro electronics

Staiger has further miniaturized its micro pressure regulators and developed an electronic pressure regulator controlled by two micro proportional valves. The entire pressure regulator is only 8.5 mm wide and has been specially optimized for the laboratory automation of pipetting tasks. The most important thing here is to be able to control pressure and vacuum extremely dynamically and precisely in order to distribute the smallest liquid samples in the nanoliter range quickly and accurately.

The liquid samples are typically distributed on standardized 96-well microtiter plates, with the wells spaced 9 mm apart. With a pressure regulator width of only 8.5 mm, it is now possible for the first time to arrange electro-pneumatically controlled pipettes directly next to each other in a 9 mm grid, allowing a complete row of wells to be operated simultaneously and individually!

Compared to classic piston-controlled pipettes, this electro-pneumatic solution is much more dynamic, smaller, requires less maintenance, and has a significantly longer service life thanks to proven Staiger technology. Due to its simple design, the pressure regulator is comparatively inexpensive and can be easily adapted to customer-specific requirements.
