The world's smallest and fastest media-isolated solenoid valve
Staiger launches media-separated micro valve with an outer diameter of just 5mm.
Staiger is known in the world of fluidics for small, precise and fast solenoid valves with very long service lives.
The company has now launched the smallest and fastest solenoid valve to date in a media-isolated version. The valve has an outer diameter of just 5mm and can dispense liquids with a switching time of just 1ms and a precision of 10nL without special control electronics. The very short switching time also results in a very high repeat accuracy, which enables extremely precise dosing processes at high speed. These properties are particularly relevant in applications such as in vitro diagnostics (IVD), laboratory automation, pipetting or inkjet printing, where it is important to be able to dispense very small quantities of liquid quickly and precisely.
Alongside other technologies, such as piezo, shape memory or linear actuators, which are used as drives in valves, electromagnets are still the most cost-effective and robust solution in valve technology, also in terms of actuation.
