2-way solenoid valve

direct actuated, NC (normally closed)

In the rest position a spring pushes the plunger with seal against the valve seat. The medium hereby supports the sealing action. Upon energizing the solenoid, the plunger is pulled away from the valve seat through magnetic energy and thereby opened. The medium can flow uninhibited from P to A. Upon de-energizing the solenoid, a spring pushes the plunger against the valve seat and closes the valve.
